The One-week Chamber Camp&nbsp;follows the same requirements for placement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Violinists:<\/strong>&nbsp;Bach&nbsp;A&nbsp;Minor&nbsp;Concerto&nbsp;(Book&nbsp;7)&nbsp;level&nbsp;and&nbsp;above<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Violists:<\/strong>&nbsp;Telemann&nbsp;Concerto&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;(Book&nbsp;4&nbsp;level)&nbsp; and above<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cellists:<\/strong>&nbsp;Book 5 and above<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pianists:<\/strong>&nbsp;beyond the Suzuki repertoire.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fees: 2-week \u2013 $1395; 1-week \u2013 $735<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who enroll in this program need to have&nbsp;<strong>well-developed reading skills<\/strong>&nbsp;and experience maintaining&nbsp;<strong>rhythmic independence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-formed chamber ensembles are allowed with the consent of the student\u2019s&nbsp;home teachers and the permission of the&nbsp;Chamber Music Coordinator. Please note that the&nbsp;<strong>chamber music form and video is required<\/strong>&nbsp;on or before the deadline for admission to the chamber program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weekday schedule&nbsp;includes a 3-person master class, a repertoire class, a technique class, a chamber ensemble, and an orchestra or piano ensemble. The Chamber Music Student Orchestras will perform in concert on&nbsp;Thursday evening of week 2.&nbsp;<strong>Concert attire for orchestra and chamber groups&nbsp;is all black.&nbsp;Please pack appropriately<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwsp-accordion blockspacetop blockspacebottom\"><div class=\"accordion\" id=\"\"><div class=\"panelcontainer nofirst\">\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Chamber Music Important Information<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All chamber music students must complete the \u200bforms at the bottom of this page, in addition to the placement video. The placement video link must be entered into the assessment form at the time of submission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;limited&nbsp;number&nbsp;of&nbsp;scholarships&nbsp;are&nbsp;available&nbsp;for&nbsp;cellists&nbsp;and&nbsp;violists&nbsp;participating&nbsp;in&nbsp;the 2-week Intensive Chamber Music Camp. Many students enjoy the bond that forms in this very special part of ASI \u2013 some of those bonds become lifelong friendships!\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chamber Music Students must bring their own music stands (label all parts).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Chamber Music Placement Video Guidelines<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The placement video is&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>not<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;an&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>audition<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;will not be used to determine acceptance to the chamber music program.&nbsp;The placement video is a tool to ensure applicants are placed in an ensemble with other students of a similar playing level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All chamber music applicants are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis until spots are filled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A placement video will allow ASI faculty to more quickly and easily assess and address the strengths and areas for improvement in each ensemble, in order to maximize all students\u2019 enjoyment and learning experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Link to the YouTube video must be submitted with your Chamber Music Program Assessment Form by June 5. See Video Recording and Submission Process section for details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submissions should include one piece of music \u2013 title of the piece and your name should be included&nbsp;on your YouTube video.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Memorization is required if you also are submitting this as an Honors Recital video.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Piano accompaniment is recommended for string players.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All videos should be reviewed by the home teacher prior to submission.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performances should reflect the home teacher\u2019s highest expectation for the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Video Recording and Submission Process<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Video&nbsp;submissions for Honors Recitals and Chamber Music Placement should follow these guidelines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please set your camera in the landscape orientation (sideways) for the recording and position the performer in the center of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Video should be in .mp4 format and&nbsp;<strong>uploaded to YouTube<\/strong>&nbsp;(submission forms require a YouTube link).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Settings for your video must be&nbsp;<strong>\u201cunlisted\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>\u201cNot made&nbsp;for kids\u201d<\/strong>.&nbsp; If this setting is not observed, we will not be able to share your video with committee members for evaluation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The video&nbsp;title must include your name&nbsp;<em>(first and last)<\/em>&nbsp;and the title of the piece.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The YouTube video link must be inserted into the Chamber Music Assessment Form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Teen Dorm Information<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/american-suzuki-institute\/asi-teen-dorm-information\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"196\">Teen Dorm<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;is a long-standing tradition for students who attend the Chamber Music portion of the Institute \u2013 for good reason. The camaraderie that develops often creates lifelong friendships. It contributes to ensembles working together on many levels. Best of all, it\u2019s a lot of FUN!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some important pieces of information about the Teen Dorm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students must be at least 13 years of age to be a part of the teen dorm. No exceptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students younger than age 13 may stay in the dorm with a parent, but counselors will not be responsible for those students. A parent must accompany them as they move from class to class.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teen dorm residents&nbsp;will be housed&nbsp;according to gender&nbsp;in an area&nbsp;on&nbsp;separate floors, wings, or dorms. A counselor of the same gender will be housed in the same floor or wing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ASI will provide an experienced counselor for every 10 campers. The counselors are responsible for the whereabouts of their assigned campers at all times. The campers are responsible for respecting the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/american-suzuki-institute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/03\/Teen-Dorm-Code-of-Conduct-Updated-2026.pdf\">Code of Conduct<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;as set forth by counselors and&nbsp;in ASI documentation. Respect is expected from all parties in attendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special activities are offered for the teen dorm&nbsp;campers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Linens will&nbsp;not&nbsp;be provided in the dorms.&nbsp;<\/strong>Please bring your favorite blanket, sheets, pillow and towels to make ASI feel like your \u201chome away from home.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">FAQ&#8217;s for Chamber Music<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q:&nbsp; &nbsp; Can my child be a part of the Chamber Music Program and not stay in the teen dorm?<\/strong><br>A:&nbsp; &nbsp; Yes, but only if the parent accompanies that child to and from classes and stays with the child in the dorm or other accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q:&nbsp; &nbsp; Can I attend the chamber music classes with my child?<\/strong><br>A:&nbsp; &nbsp; Yes, provided that the room capacity permits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u200bQ:&nbsp; &nbsp; Is there a dress code for orchestra and chamber performances?<\/strong><br>A:&nbsp; &nbsp; Yes.
