New First-Year Student Scholarship List

In addition to the scholarships listed below, departmental scholarships may be available. Students are encouraged to contact the department of their intended major to explore scholarship possibilities in their area of study.

  • The number of scholarships and amounts listed below may vary based on available funding.
  • Some awards may change reflecting current trends in interest rates.
  • The scholarship process is competitive. Meeting minimum citeria alone does not guarantee receipt of an award. Scholarship recipients typically meet and exceed minimum criteria for eligibility.

Priority consideration is given to admitted students who submit the scholarship application form by December 15 of 2017.

  • Top 5% of high school class
  • Displays leadership qualities
  • Must be from former U.S. Representative Melvin R. Laird’s congressional district (7th)
  • If no candidate is available from the 7th Congressional District, the recipient’s home town shall be in the state of Wisconsin
  • Potentially renewable for a second year if 3.0 GPA is maintained, documentation of continued community/university involvement/leadership, and full-time (at least 12 credits) student status
