Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA), Dual and Concurrent

CESA
This program is in collaboration with the CESA district. High school students take college courses taught via distance learning at the high school by the UWSP instructor. Courses are taken for both high school and college credit. 

Dual
High School students take college courses taught at the high school by the UW-Stevens Point instructor. Courses are taken for both high school and college credit. 

Concurrent
High School students take college courses taught at the high school by the UW-Stevens Point approved high school instructor. Courses are taken for both high school and/or college credit.

How to Apply

CESA and Dual 

  1. Meet with your school counselor to see if taking college courses will work with your schedule and if you are ready to take college courses.

  2. Apply to a UW-Stevens Point campus using the UW System online application

  3. Request your high school to send your transcript.

  4. Submit any documentation needed for course prerequisites: ACT scores, AP scores, transcripts from other universities and/or technical colleges. For Math, English and Foreign Language courses, students may be required to take a placement test.

  5. After the application and registration are processed, students will receive an email to the personal email account listed on the application. This email contains information for students to activate their accounts and other important information. 

Concurrent 

  1. Meet with your school counselor to see if taking college courses will work with your schedule and if you are ready to take college courses.

  2. Apply to a UW-Stevens Point campus using the UW System online application

  3. Request your high school to send your transcript.

  4. Submit any documentation needed for course prerequisites: ACT scores, AP scores, transcripts from other universities and/or technical colleges. For Math, English and Foreign Language courses, students may be required to take a placement test.

  5. After the application and registration are processed, students will receive an email to the personal email account listed on the application, regarding their registration. 

​Admission Standards 

  1. Junior and Senior

  2. At least a 2.0 cumulative GPA OR

  3. Top 50% of class with an ACT composite score of 24 or higher.

*If the admission standards are not met, please contact the UW-Stevens Point Early College Credit Program Coordinator. Additional documentation (example, letter of recommendation from high school) will be required.
