While attending, he played for the Pointers basketball team. He was named an National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics First-Team All-American his junior and senior year. His NBA career included playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs before retiring in 2001. He then was an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings. Eventually he became head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves and the University of Portland. In 1993 Porter returned to Stevens Point to finish his degree in communication. He is currently working on the third novel and has written several novellas for the series and&nbsp;adapting&nbsp;his books for television. Natural Resource Management, Environmental Education and Biology&nbsp;1979, worked for the National Park Service for 30 years, ending her career as the first woman to serve as superintendent of Mount Rushmore National Park. While in college, she interned at Jewel Cave National Monument, then went on to work at Death Valley National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Independence National Historical Park, the National Park Service office in Denver and Bryce Canyon National Park.
