It is also important to review the personnel rules for your department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promotion Schedule (Instructional) Academic Staff&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/acadaff\/Documents\/2025-26%20AcadAffCalendar_rev.09242025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"\/academic-affairs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/67\/2026\/02\/2025-26-AcadAffCalendar.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Academic Staff (2025-26)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due Dates for promotion materials to be submitted to&nbsp;your dean\/director and to Academic Affairs can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/acadaff\/Documents\/2025-26%20AcadAffCalendar_rev.09242025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>&nbsp;(please see section titled&nbsp;<em>Promotion Schedule and Emeritus Schedule&nbsp;<\/em>located on page 3\u200b).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promotion Application<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are applying for promotion, please use this&nbsp;<a href=\"\/academic-affairs\/checklists-forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check\u200b list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Category B Merit<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Each Category B Academic Staff member in a department generates 14 merit points. Ten of these 14 points are distributed to the department to be allocated according to departmental procedures. The remaining 4 points are distributed among the department chairperson (1 point), the dean of the college (2 points), and the vice chancellor (1 point) to be allocated according to the appropriate procedures for each.
