CPS Café Chili Cook-Off

Chili Cook-Off


Contestant check-in: 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Chili judging: 4:45-5:30 p.m.
Winner ceremony: 5:45 p.m.


Admission to eat at the Chili Cook-Off is a non-perishable food item which will be collected for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and donated to The Cupboard. During the week of the Chili Cook-Off, The Cupboard will have a table and collection bins in the Joan North Place in the  College of Professional Studies.


  • Individuals and teams submit chili entries by 3 p.m. on Nov. 8.
  • Winner will be featured recipe on Nov. 14 and National Chili Day (Feb. 28) in the CPS Café.

Contest Rules

  • Each chili dish will be rated by a panel of judges per the following criteria:
    • Uniqueness
    • Aroma
    • Flavor
    • Texture
    • Heat
  • Contestants must bring their prepared chili in a crock pot with a serving utensil to the CPS Cafe by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2019.
  • This event is open to the public who will taste while supplies last.
  • Be sure to cook at least 5-6 quarts of chili.
