The Wisconsin Wildlife Federation is creating a Conservation Leadership Corps in Wisconsin to help students tackle the natural resource challenges of the coming decades.

The program will focus on providing students with "training in leadership skills, analyzing and developing sound conservation policy positions and effective communication and advocacy for the policy positions they develop, according to the federation.

The format is based on a similar program used by the Conservation Federation of Missouri.

The Wisconsin effort is being led by WWF committee chair Lil Pipping of Elkhart Lake and UW-Stevens Point student Leah McSherry.
