Alumni team up to create green liners for garbage and recycling bins

Have you taken a good whiff of your garbage or recycling bin on a hot day? You know the smell. The one that makes your nasal passages want to divorce your nose.

For McFarland nextdoor neighbors Brock Vander Velden and Derek Westrum, an invention to prevent that odor has them smelling entrepreneurial success.

The McFarland men have created Green-Ease Line-A-Bin, a liner made of the same material as a reusable shopping bag that seals to a garbage or recycling bin, lasts up to three months or more and can be easily replaced.
