Governor Scott Walker's budget recommendation for higher education is taking some heat on college campuses.

The University of Wisconsin system is facing a $300 million cut if the governor's proposal passes, as well as more autonomy and freedom from state laws and oversight.

UW-Stevens Point held a forum to discuss the cuts Wednesday and hundreds of people showed up, including Dawn Henke.

"I moved here from Arizona specifically to go to these schools," she said. "There are better schools here than in Arizona."

A proud UWSP student, Henke is worried about Governor Walker's budget.
