Expert: 'Don't panic' at stock market plunge

Stocks plunged immediately after the opening bell Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average showed the most drastic movement. The index sank more than 1,000 points at today's session low.

Experts pinned the sell-off to global instability, slowing growth in China, and low oil prices.

“Do I think that people should be worried? Well I think that they should be at least concerned, UW-Stevens Point Professor of Economics Randy Cray said. “But I think that they need to keep it in perspective. This sort of thing has historically happened numerous times before as the market tries to properly price those assets."
