Though some people competing in the 45th annual WWSP-90FM Trivia contest in April are just getting their teams together, many of the top contenders in the world’s largest trivia contest began preparing for the event at 12:01 a.m. the day after last year’s contest ended.

The 54-hour contest starting April 11 is organized by WWSP-90FM, the student-run radio station at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Questions, based primarily on pop culture, are read and teams then have the length of two songs to call in their answers. Some of the more than 400 teams that participate use the contest as a excuse to reconnect with family members and friends, while others treat Trivia like the Olympics.
