Dylan Shanahan said Trivia is one of the few events at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus that gets just about everyone on campus interested and involved.

Trivia 45, billed as the world’s largest trivia contest, is expected to draw more than 12,000 players when it kicks off Friday. Players from nearly 400 teams will spend the weekend answering a variety arcane and obscure questions on movies, music, television, books, comic books and advertising.

The contest runs for 54 straight hours, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and ending at 11:59 p.m. April 13. It’s an event that requires a slew of dedicated volunteers to answer phones at the 90 FM studios as teams call in with answers, and DJs willing to work into the wee hours of the morning reciting the questions to listeners.
