Central Wisconsin filmmakers will present a documentary that explores themes of Hmong immigration Saturday at the Marathon County Public Library.

Director Matthew Brown, a Stevens Point-based journalist and filmmaker, and co-producer Kristy SeBlonka will screen their film, “Finding the Middle Way” at 2 p.m. After the showing, Brown will lead a panel that will further discuss issues brought out in the film, such as reasons behind Hmong settlement in Wisconsin, the relationship between the Hmong community and the larger community and inter-generational friction experienced in many Hmong families.

Maysee Yang Herr, 37, of Wausau, an assistant professor of education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, worked as a humanities expert and cultural consultant with Brown and SeBlonka in both the development of the documentary and its filming.
