The 2013 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point football season kicked off Saturday night, and the UWSP football players weren’t the only ones sporting new gold outfits.
To mark the 27th Spud Bowl — the annual celebration of the team’s season-opener — people could sample baked potatoes wrapped in gold tin foil. This year, organizers even added a 5K run.
UWSP uses the Spud Bowl as a way to celebrate central Wisconsin’s agricultural industry and the impact it has on the university and the Stevens Point community.
