Marissa McDougall is from central Wisconsin and said she wants to continue to live and work in the region as a nurse.

A Wisconsin Rapids native, McDougall went to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to earn a degree in nursing, but she wanted to be closer to home. She graduated with an associate degree in nursing from Mid-State Technical College in December 2011, and now works at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.

McDougall said she has considered pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing but would have to travel to Eau Claire or Oshkosh for school. But with news that the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will now offer that degree, McDougall said the option is more of a possibility.
