The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is among a handful of schools across the country that have distinguished themselves as the best in the nation at running sports tournaments.

NCAA sporting championships are being held at 89 sites across the United States this season, and all but three of them are likely to lose money, UWSP Athletics Director Daron Mongomery said.

UWSP, which will host the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament starting March 21 at the Quandt Fieldhouse and will this weekend host the third and fourth rounds of the men’s tourney, plans to use both weekends to demonstrate its ability to put on big games.
