Organizers of a food pantry dedicated to students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point say they serve those on campus who might otherwise be left to decide whether to buy groceries or pay bills.

The Cupboard, located in the lower level of the Dreyfus University Center on Reserve Street, started in late 2011 after a brainstorming session with students and staff members about volunteer projects. Last school year, the pantry’s first full year of operation, nearly 250 students made more than 900 visits to the pantry and took home nearly 10,300 pounds of food.
