Aquaculture education available in diversity of venues

Although education in aquaculture and fisheries biology might not enjoy a high public profile, it is nonetheless a vibrant activity at several universities and satellite sites in Wisconsin.
 
What's happening at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was described by representatives of those institutions during the 19th annual conference of the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association.
 
Thanks to a $250,000 grant from Wisconsin's Sea Grant program, which runs to September 30, 2015, nine courses will be available to small groups of students for home computer study, according to Chris Hartleb, professor of fisheries biology at UW-Stevens Point and co-director of the northern aquaculture demonstration facility at Bayfield.
