Last year Professor Caro attended the International Conference for Special Education and heard about the School of the Visually Impaired in Windhoek.

After a visit to the school she put the wheels in motion to not only collect money and donations for the school but to bring 18 volunteers from the University of Wisconsin to Namibia. The volunteers are final-year education students and most of them are specialising in special education. The students will work with the teachers for the next three weeks to help the children.
