UW-Stevens Point experts help with Portage County shoreland issues

Portage County has been working for almost two years to complete revisions to its Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, and local experts say the changes have received mostly positive reviews.
 
On Saturday the public received an update and heard how the changes might affect property, lakes, rivers, fish populations and wildlife. Lynn Markham, a University of Wisconsin-Extension shoreland and land use specialist with the Center for Land Use Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and Nancy Turyk, a water resources scientist at UWSP, were on hand to answer questions.
