UW-Stevens Point study looks at state's use of cropland

The Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) is an Antigo-based trade group representing potato growers, shippers and packers, processors, seed providers and many other affiliated businesses.

In their most recent Did You Know ad, the Association says Wisconsin farmers are dedicated stewards of more than 9 million acres of cropland.

According to a UW-Stevens Point study called “Wisconsin Land Use Megatrends,” the USDA Census of Agriculture says cropland covers more than 10 million acres of the state; the majority of these uses being feed, soybeans and corn for grain.
