Guest pianist to perform, teach at UW-Stevens Point

Concert pianist Veda Zuponcic will perform and teach at the University of Wisconsin-Steven
s Point as part of the College of Fine Arts and Communication’s “Great Artists, Great Speakers” series.

Her performance will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $7 for the public, $4 for senior citizens, $3 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point ID. Zuponcic, a professor of music at Rowan University, will also meet with UW-Stevens Point piano students at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Michelsen Hall. This master class is free and open to the public. Her visit is part of the Music Department Scholarship Series.

Zuponcic has been praised for her warmth and poetry as a pianist and as a star teacher. A native of Minnesota, she has performed across Europe, Russia and the United States. She has taught at Rowan University since 1972 and was an exchange professor at the Moscow State Conservatory in 1992. She is in frequent demand as a clinician and has presented master classes throughout the world. She also serves as the artistic director of the Northern Lights Music Festival in her hometown of Aurora, Minn.​
