Women’s Choir, Chamber Singers join voices for concert at UW-Stevens Point

The voices of the Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will bring holiday cheer to campus this December. 

 

 

 

A concert will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center. The choirs will be accompanied by Mary Ellen Mitchell and Professor Michael Keller on piano. 

 

The Chamber Singers, directed by Professor Susan Bender, will perform Brahms’ “Liebeslieder Waltzes” then join with the Women’s Choir for “Life Has Loveliness to Sell,” arranged by Harris. 

 

The Women’s Choir, conducted by Assistant Professor Catherine Wilson, will sing “Sound the Trumpet” by Purcell, “Sleigh Ride” by Parish and Anderson, “Duet for Two Cats” By Rossini, “Sussex Carol” by Noble, “Suo Gan” by Trant and featuring soloist Valerie Evans and “Ching-A-Ring Chaw” by Copland. 

 

Part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, the concert is $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D.
