A faculty harpist will be featured at an upcoming concert
of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Symphony Orchestra.
The performance is Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in
Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center. Conducted by Music Professor
Patrick Miles, the orchestra will perform “To Move Mountains” by Aaron Marx,
“Adagio for Strings” by Samuel Barber and “Symphony No. 1 in C Major” by Ludwig
van Beethoven. Adjunct music faculty member Rosie Gilbert will perform
“Concerto in B-flat Major for Harp” by George Frideric Handel.
A part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, the
concert is $8.25 for the public, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for youth and
students. Tickets are free the day of the concert for UW-Stevens Point students

The UW-Stevens Point Symphony Orchestra is renowned for
its performances of both standard orchestral repertoire as well as contemporary
music. Students from all majors audition to become members. Miles has conducted
the orchestra since 1990.
