An event that celebrates and supports student musicians will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Friday, April 28.

The 19th annual Soirée Musicale begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Noel Fine Arts Center. A fundraiser for the Music Department, the event includes a reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by a concert in Michelsen Hall at 7:30 p.m. and an afterglow party featuring desserts and a cash bar.

The evening highlights the talents of UW-Stevens Point faculty, students and alumni.

Admission is $65 per person and includes a concert, pre- and post-performance receptions. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.uwsp.edu/music/Pages/soiree.aspx.

All proceeds fund scholarships, primarily for incoming first-year students, which enable UW-Stevens Point to recruit and retain some of the region's most promising musicians. Soirée Musicale has raised more than $300,000 for music scholarships since its inception.
