The keynote address, "Corrections and the Small City: Practices, Challenges and Potential," will be given by John Shook, chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Dubuque and a former federal corrections official.

Some of the topics of Thursday's sessions include the working as force multipliers, working with the transgender community, court case studies, contemporary issues in criminal justice, women's and minority's rights, local prosecutors and public issues. A featured presentation, "In/complete Trust: Building Community Trust in Law Enforcement," will be given by Susan Riseling, former chief of police at UW-Madison and the current director of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrations.
