Moscow Boys Choir to present 'Christmas Around the World' concert

Celebrate “Christmas Around the World” this holiday season with a performance of the Moscow Boys Choir in Stevens Point.
The concert will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Sentry Headquarters Theater@1800 in Stevens Point as part of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Performing Arts Series. The concert is also sponsored in part by Country Inn and Suites of Stevens Point and Sentry Insurance.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $6 for youth. UW-Stevens Point students with ID may buy tickets in advance for $4.50 or be admitted free the day of the show if seats remain. Tickets may be purchased through the University Information and Tickets office in the Dreyfus University Center, 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378, or by going online. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted.
The “Christmas Around the World” concert will showcase many beloved holiday songs as well as new pieces, many sung in their language of origin. Also featured will be favorites from previous tours, including excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah” and other classics such as “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Silver Bells” and the choir’s rendition of “Silent Night.”
One of Russia’s most prestigious all-boy choirs, the Moscow Boys Choir brings a distinct Russian flair to the choral experience. Founded in 1957, the ensemble includes hand-picked members chosen from more than 400 students at their school in Moscow. The choir enjoys an international reputation for excellence.
