Colorful laser light shows at UW-Stevens Point

Colorful laser light shows set to rock music, as well as educational shows for younger audiences, will be shown this spring at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Allen F. Blocher Planetarium.

The popular laser light rock shows will be offered at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. nightly, Wednesday through Saturday, March 29-April 1 and April 5-8. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for students with UWSP I.D. Tickets are available at the door beginning at 7:30 p.m. and are valid that day only. The shows are recommended for children age 12 and older. Special shows for groups of 20 or more may be scheduled by contacting the planetarium office at 715-346-2139.

The laser rock show schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 29 – Led Zeppelin
  • Thursday, March 30 – Metallica
  • Friday, March 31 – Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
  • Saturday, April 1 – Pink Floyd: The Wall
  • Wednesday, April 5 – Vinyl
  • Thursday, April 6 – Beatles
  • Friday, April 7 – Pink Floyd: The Wall
  • Saturday, April 8 – Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon


Educational laser shows, featuring stories about legendary characters found in the stars, will be offered Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2 and Saturday, April 8, at 5 and 6 p.m. These are free of charge, first-come, first-served for up to 55 people per show. The schedule for these shows is the same each day:

  • 5 p.m. - Legends of the Night Sky: Perseus and Andromeda
  • 6 p.m. - Legends of the Night Sky: Orion

Admission helps purchase of new astronomical shows and other educational expenses.

The planetarium is located on the second of the UW-Stevens Point Science Building at the corner of Reserve Street and Fourth Avenue.
