UW-Stevens Point choirs present holiday concert

Launch December with holiday music performed by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Concert Choir and Choral Union.

The choirs will perform Monday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center, conducted by Professor Lucinda Thayer.

The Concert Choir will perform “A Ceremony of Carols, op. 28” by Benjamin Britten, featuring faculty member Rosalie Gilbert on harp and student soloists. The Choral Union will perform “Carols and Lullabies – Christmas in the Southwest” by Conrad Susa, featuring nine student soloists as well as Gilbert, student Brianna Trainor on percussion and Nathan Wysock, a lecturer at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, on guitar.
 
Tickets are $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. Tickets are available at the University Information and Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center, by calling 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378 or at http://tickets.uwsp.edu. Tickets also may be purchased at the door if available.
