Campus Orchestra to feature student soloists

Students on cello and bass will be featured soloists in an upcoming concert of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Campus Orchestra. 

 

 

 

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center. Conducted by Professor Steven Bjella, the orchestra will feature cellists Gradon White and Alexandra Miller and bassist Alex Ferkey. Performances will include music by William Boyce, Michelle Diehl, Antonio Vivaldi, J.S. Bach, Giovanni Bottesini and Elaine Fine.

 

 

 

The Campus Orchestra is made up of non-music majors. Part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, tickets are $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students or free on concert day for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. Tickets are available at the University Information and Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center, by calling 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378 or at http://tickets.uwsp.edu.
