The Campus and
Concert bands at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will perform their
first fall concert on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Held at 7:30 p.m.
in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center, the concert will be conducted
by Assistant Music Professor Michael Butler, director of bands, and Associate
Professor of Music Patrick Lawrence, as well as guest student conductor Emily
Janes, a senior music education major.
The Campus Band
will perform “A Welsh Rhapsody” by Clare Grundman, “Shenandoah” by Frank
Ticheli, “Rhythm Stand” by Jennifer Higdon and “Military Escort March” by
Harold Bennett.
The Concert Band
will present “Gavorkna Fanfare” by Jack Stamp, “Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo”
by Malcolm Arnold, “Salvation is Created” by Pavel Tchesnokov” and “Pas
Redouble” by Camille Saint-Saens.
The event is part of the Music Department
Scholarship Series. Tickets are $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens,
$4.25 for students or free on concert day for students with a UW-Stevens Point
