Sea kayaking weekend offered through Becoming an Outdoors-Woman

​Experience kayaking around the Apostle Islands this summer through the Wisconsin Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program.
 
The Apostle Islands Sea Kayaking Workshop will be held August 29-September 1. Participants will become familiar and comfortable with gear, terminology, basic paddling strokes and safety before exploring the Apostle Island sea caves and making an open-water crossing to Madeline Island. Instructors from DC Adventure Center (www.dcadventurecenter.com) will tailor lessons to fit both beginner and more experienced paddlers.
 
The workshop is open to anyone 18 and older and no experience is necessary. Activities are suitable for most adults and ability levels.
 
Participants will stay at Woodside Cottages in Bayfield, Wis., “The Best Little Town in the Midwest.” Opportunities to shop and explore the historic downtown district will be available through the weekend.
 
The registration fee for three nights lodging, six meals, instruction, equipment use and entertainment is $599 per person. Register soon, as space is limited.
