Based on Barbara Ehrenreich's best-seller Nickel and Dimed, On (Not) Getting By in America, this odyssey of trying to survive in a low wage lifestyle is vivid and witty, yet always deeply sobering. Joan Holden's stage adaptation is a focused comic epic shadowed with tragedy. Not recommended for young audiences.
What the Butler Saw
March 5th-7th & 11th-13th,
2010
Noel Fine Arts Center Jenkins Theatre
In this sexy black comedy, a simple act of seduction turns into a wild farce complete with cross-dressing and mistaken identity. The play, set in a private psychiatric clinic, was very controversial when it opened in 1969, and remains deliciously unsuitable for children. Not recommended for young audiences.

Noel Fine Arts Center Studio Theatre
In 1925, while chasing a dream of fame and fortune by turning a Kentucky cave into a tourist attraction, Floyd Collins himself became the attraction when he became trapped 200 feet underground. Alone but for sporadic contact with the outside world, Floyd fought for his sanity and ultimately his life as the rescue effort above exploded into the first genuine media circus. This haunting musical - one of the most acclaimed in recent years - tells the transcendent tale of a true American dreamer.
