Admission and Scholarships
Applicants must meet the university’s admission requirements and complete a successful audition to be admitted into the musical theatre program. Enrollment is limited to 30 majors. Auditions, held in February and March, consist of two contrasting songs, a monologue, and a movement combination. Acceptance is based on vocal and acting ability, stage presence, confidence and dedication to pursuing a professional musical theatre career. Students must be officially admitted to UWSP as a full-time student before their assigned audition date.
How do I apply to get into the BFA program?
Only a limited number of students are accepted each year. Auditions are held on campus in the spring for fall admission. Students who audition must also apply to the university for admission. Specific audition requirements for the program are detailed in the audition application. This form, along with the additional materials requested on it, should be completed and returned as soon as possible to:

Limited scholarships are available and are awarded based on the entrance audition/interview.
Performance and Production The department produces two musicals each academic year. Musical theatre majors are also required to audition for mainstage plays and encouraged to audition for the two annual dance concerts. Players, the student-run producing organization, provides additional performance and production opportunities.
