Tim Howard

Tim Howard has had a diverse career, as a Director/Writer, Music Director/Arranger, and Actor. In the last 20 years he has worked with actors such as: Ned Beatty, George Grizzard, Len Cariou, Carol Shelley, Dean Jones, Anita Gillette, John McMartin and Vincent D'Onofrio.

As a singer/actor, Tim was featured as Jake in the Broadway National Tour of SHOWBOAT, directed by the legendary Harold Prince and choreographed by Susan Stroman. He also had the honor of working with Mr. Prince again as J.N. Starnes in PARADE, conducted by the Tony award winning composer, Jason Robert Brown. While on the road, he wrote and co-starred in LEACHMAN AND HOWARD: TOGETHER AT LAST with the Oscar/Emmy award winning, Cloris Leachman. New York credits include THE HAPPY PRINCE, creating the role of Cedric in the New York Music Theatre Festival, SHINE (National Music Theatre), JUBILEE (Ensemble Studio Theatre), the workshop of HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME for ABC Television, and ABELARD AND HELOISE at the Roundabout Theatre.

Regionally he has performed leading roles in plays, as well as musicals @ Studio Arena, Capital Rep, Boston Shakespeare, Stamford Theatre Works, Merrimack Rep, Pittsburgh CLO, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Stages St. Louis, to name a few. Television appearances include numerous national commercials, as well as principal work on LAW AND ORDER; CRIMINAL INTENT, LOVING and LATE NITE WITH DAVID LETTERMAN.

In addition, Tim has Directed/Music Directed over 40 shows Off-Broadway, and Regionally. Highlights include directing HAIR, in which he collaborated with the writers, Galt MacDermot, Gerome Ragni and James Rado to present the 20th Anniversary production of the musical: Music Directing/Arranging GET ANY GUY THRU PSYCHIC MIND CONTROL OR YOUR MONEY BACK (Critic's Voice Award-Time Magazine) at Westbeth Theatre Center, and Act I Arena; Directing/Music Directing NUNSENSE II @ Old Castle Theatre: Directing GYPSY, and LA CAGE AUX FOLLES for Shawnee Playhouse, and working with Cloris Leachman again when he Directed her original show, RED ROSES FOR A BLUE LADY at the White Barn Theatre. Some of his favorite Music Directing credits include JUST KISS ME at the The Triad in NYC, ANIMAL FARM (additional music composed), EVITA at ACT I Arena, JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS and BELLS ARE RINGING at the Old Castle Theatre, and L.M./Music Director for PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES @ The Jupiter Theatre, Old Castle Theatre, Hilton Head Playhouse, and Centennial Theatre Festival.

For the last 20 years, Tim has been a Vocal Teacher/Coach to clients on Broadway, national Tours, and Off-Broadway as well as being on the Voice Faculty @ Marymount Manhattan College.
