Amy earned a BFA in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, an MFA from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Graduate Laban Certificate in Movement Analysis (CMA) from Columbia College Chicago. She received a full Pilates Certification in New York City under the tutelage of master teachers Lesley Powell and Doris Pasteleur Hall.

Before relocating to the Midwest Amy held a private Pilates practice at the Movements Afoot Studio in Manhattan. She also served as a researcher and production coordinator for Emmy-award winning documentary film, Free To Dance: The African American Presence in Modern Dance, a co-production of American Dance Festival and The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.

As a professional dancer Amy has worked with several New York City-based choreographers and modern dance companies; and her own choreography was produced at the Brooklyn Arts Center and Gowanus Arts Exchange in Brooklyn, NY.

Amy has taught dance and movement theory courses at UW-Stevens Point, Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) and UW-Madison. She has been a guest teacher at Beloit College (Beloit, WI), and Long Island University (Brooklyn, NY) as well as at The Pilates on 10th Studio in Seattle, WA.

Amy is the owner of Studio B Pilates (Stevens Point), Co-Director of The Artist in Residence (AIR) Project, and founder the event Dance For Cancer, a benefit concert featuring dance works from professionals throughout the country.
