Andrew Cao

Andrew Cao graduated with a BFA and double majors in Musical Theatre and Dance. Currently, Andrew is playing “Bernardo” in WEST SIDE STORY and appears in CYRANO DE BERGERAC the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada. Other WEST SIDE STORY credits include “Chino” at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, “Bernardo” at the West Virginia Public Theatre, and “Indo, Tony u/s” in the 50th Anniversary National Tour. Professional credits also include: “Tommy Keeler” in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera; “Paul” in KISS ME KATE at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre as well as “Hortensio” in KISS ME KATE at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis; “Romeo” in ROMEO & JULIET and “Puck” in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, both at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey; “Chad u/s” in ALL SHOOK UP at the Carousel Theatre; “Max Mencken” in IT’S A BIRD… IT’S A PLANE… with the Opening Doors Theatre Company in NYC; “The Soldier” in RAW with NYC Cedar Lake Ensemble; BURLY-Q with AMAS Musical Theatre, “Samuel” in SAMUEL & DANIELLA with WizardOil Productions at the Players Theatre in NYC. He’s also done two films with Heights Entertainment, “Chris” in THE STORY OF JUAN BAGO and “Mr. Jacobs” in NUESTRA VIDA, along with a handful of national and international commercials and print ads. He also danced as “Tyrone” for the Nickelodeon television show THE BACKYARDIGANS. Choreographically, Andrew recently worked in Salvador, Brazil with the performance group COROLAINE, choreographing and leading a workshop in American dance and theatre. He choreographed BEAUTY & THE BEAST, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, JOSEPH…, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, FOOTLOOSE, and SEUSSICAL at The Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Colorado and directed RMRT’s Youth Theatre Workshop. Andrew also choreographed for various show choirs, including RIVERSIDE COMPANY in Minnesota and PLATINUM EDITION at Viterbo University, over the past several years.
