Amy Beversdorf

BIO

Amy Beversdorf, Associate Lecturer, teaches Pilates Mat, and co-directs UWSP’s Balanced Body Pilates Authorized Training Center. She has been teaching Pilates since 2000, training with nationally recognized teachers Lesley Powell and Doris Pasteleur Hall. In 2004 Amy founded Studio B Pilates, Stevens Point. She trains new teachers in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Apparatus, and Anatomy in 3D throughout the United States. In 2010 she joined the Pilates education branch of Balanced Body under the tutelage of Nora St. John. She continues to train new teachers in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Apparatus, and Anatomy throughout the United States.

Before relocating to Wisconsin, Amy danced professionally in New York where she also held a private Pilates practice at the Movements Afoot Studio. She earned a BFA in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, MFA from UW-Milwaukee, and Graduate Laban Certificate in Movement Analysis (CMA) from Columbia College Chicago. Amy is also co-founder of The Artist In Residence (AIR) Project, Stevens Point, a local non-profit organization dedicated to producing collaborative and innovative performing arts programming.
