red bulletFax Service

Outgoing and incoming fax service is available on-campus. You will need an authorization code to send a fax.

Authorization Code
An authorization code is a unique 7-digit number.  All calls made using this code are billed directly to your telephone account. Authorization codes are good for one year and assigned each fall. Codes are automatically cancelled in June.

Authorization Codes may be used from any restricted telephone on-campus. Restricted telephones include: residence hall telephones, courtesy telephones, and select fax machines. The authorization code allows you to dial direct anywhere in the United States or Canada. International calling is available by calling the Telephone Support Office.

Treat your auth code like a credit card.  DO NOT share your code.  If your code has been lost, stolen, or you no longer wish to use it, you must notify the Telephone Support Office, or fill out an Authorization Code Cancellation Form.

To obtain a code, or cancel a code, go to the "Forms/Work Orders" link on the left hand side of the screen.

Cost
The charge for sending a fax will be based on the number you dial and the length of the call. There are no additional charges. For example, if you are faxing to a local number, there will be no charge. If you are faxing to an extended community number, your charge will be $.05 per minute.  Your fax charge will appear on your monthly telephone bill.  To review charges, go to Telephone Charges.

Incoming Fax
When receiving a fax, have the sender include your name and your local telephone number. You will not be charged for an incoming fax. A lab assistant will attempt to contact you for an incoming fax. The fax will be held for three (3) days before being discarded.
