Instructions
To place a call from any campus telephone to an off-campus number you must dial [9] first. All extended community, long distance, and international calls require an authorization code or calling card. To obtain a code, click here.

Call descriptions:
Incoming Calls: (no charge) - All incoming calls to the university have distinctive rings. 1 ring - on-campus call, 2 rings - off-campus call, 3 rings - automatic callback, 4 rings - call forwarding or send calls.
On-Campus Calls: (no charge) - All on-campus telephone calls are free. Just dial the last 4 digits of the campus telephone number. UWSP telephone numbers include the following: 295-7000 thru 295-8999, 345-6000 thru 345-6499, 346-2000's, 346-3000's, 346-4000's, 346-5700 thru 346-5999.
Local Calls: (no charge) - All local calls are free. Local calls may be placed to Stevens Point, Park Ridge, Plover, Polonia, Whiting and Custer.
Extended Community Calls: ($.05 per minute) - Extended community calling will allow you to call certain communities surrounding Stevens Point without paying long distance charges. Extended communities include: Almond, Amherst, Bancroft, Elderon, Hatley, Junction City, Mosinee, Nekoosa, Plainfield, Port Edwards, Ringle, Rosholt, Rudolph and Wisconsin Rapids.
Domestic Long Distance
Calls:
(two plans available) - Long distance service is determined by the Telephone
Support Office. We offer two (2) long distance plans for personal telephone
usage. All students are automatically enrolled in Plan #1. To switch
plans, fill out a
Domestic Long Distance Plan Change Form.
Canadian & International Calls: (price varies) - Canadian and international call service is available by calling the Telephone Support Office at (715) 346-2562. Calls to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the West Indies are considered long distance, not international calls.
Directory Assistance Calls: ($1.25 per call) - When you can't find a number, or a listing is new, Directory Assistance can help you. DO NOT allow directory assistance to dial the number direct. This will cost you extra!
Operator Assisted Calls: (price varies) - DO NOT bill these types of calls to a UWSP number. If you make this type of call, the charges must be billed to a non-UWSP number. If not, you may be charged extra!
Calling Cards & Prepaid Calling Cards: (no additional charge) - These cards may be used on-campus. However, they must be billed to a non-UWSP telephone number.
Toll Free Calls (1-800 Numbers): (no charge) - Toll-free prefixes include: 800, 855, 866, 877, 888.
500 & 900 Calls: (blocked) - UWSP has no way to bill these calls back to the calling extension.
