Business Cellular Instructions
Are you having trouble using your cellular features? If so, this page may
help. Scroll through this page for a list of general instructions.
Setting Up Your Voice Mailbox:
- From a landline phone, dial your 7-digit cellular phone number. (11
digits may be necessary if you are outside your calling area.)
- Press the [*] key to interrupt the greeting.
- You will be asked to enter a temporary password. Enter [9999].
- Please follow the tutorial steps to set up your new voice mail
passcode and greeting.
Retrieve & Listen to Message:
From your cellular phone:
- Dial your 10-digit cellular number + SEND.
- Enter your password and follow prompts.
For access to voice mailbox from any home or office location:
- Dial your 7-digit cellular number (when the call is local) or, dial
1 + your 10-digit cellular number (when the call is long distance, or
where 10-digit dialing is required).
- Press " * " to interrupt greeting.
- Enter your password and follow prompts.
To listen to your messages:
From the main menu, press 1 - to play messages (play menu)
Once in the play menu:
- To save messages - Press 9.
- To delete messages - Press 7.
- To keep messages new - Press # (from play menu).
(will not place message in "saved messages" storage location).
- To return to the main menu - Press *.
- To exit the system - Press # (from main menu).
- To recover deleted messages - Press * + 3 (while on the same call).
Note: The cellular message center automatically advances you to the next
message in your voice mailbox after completing the above options.
Modify Greeting/Password/Recorded Name:
Access your mailbox.
Greeting(s):
- Press 3 - (places you into the greetings menu).
- Follow prompts to listen to and modify primary or alternate
greeting.
Password:
- Press 4 (personal options menu).
- Press 4 again (personal preferences selection menu).
- Press 1 (modify your password).
Recorded Name:
- Press 4 (personal options menu).
- Press 4 again (personal preferences selection menu).
- Press 3 (modify your recorded name).
Distribution Lists/Pager Notification:
Distribution Lists and Pager Notification is available to all customers.
For information regarding these features dial 611 from your cellular phone
for a customer service representative.
Call Forwarding - Immediate: (Immediately
forwards incoming calls to a pre-selected phone number when your phone is
turned on or off.)
To activate:
- Press *71.
- Enter 1 + the area code + the phone number where calls are to be
forwarded.
- Press SND.
- Listen for confirmation tones.
- Press END.
To cancel:
- Press *710 SND.
- Listen for confirmation tones.
- Press END.
Call Forwarding - No Answer: (Forwards incoming
calls to a pre-selected phone number when you do not answer your cellular
phone.)
To activate:
- Press *74.
- Enter 1 + the area code + the phone number where calls are to be
forwarded.
- Press SND.
- Listen for confirmation tones.
- Press END.
To cancel:
- Press *740 SND.
- Listen for confirmation tones.
- Press END.
To redirect to Voice Mail:
- Press *74##.
- Enter your 10-digit mobile number.
- Press SND.
- Press END.
Call Waiting:
To place original call on hold, or alternate between calls, press SND. To
end present call and answer incoming or holding call, press 1 SND.
Three-Way Calling:
To activate:
- Place first call, wait for answer.
- While the first caller is on the line press SND to produce a dial
tone.
- Enter the third party's phone number and press SND.
- After third party answers, press 3 SND to connect all three parties.
To speak privately to each party:
- Press 2 SND to go back and forth between parties.
To end the conversation with the current party and switch to the other
party:
How to Answer/End Calls:
If you have a mobile or transportable phone, just pick up your handset
and answer. If you have a portable cellular phone, or your cellular phone
has a hands-free option, simply press SND. After completing your call, press
END.
How to Receive Calls While Roaming:
Traveling through NACN markets:
- Caller simply dials your 7-digit cellular number.
Using a roamer access number:
- Caller dials 1 + 10-digit roamer access number for the city you are
visiting.
- After hearing a dial tone, the caller dials your 10-digit cellular
number.
- The call will ring through to you only if your phone's power is
"on."
