Use the mute button for turning off the microphone associated with the handset or the speaker (whichever is active), so the other person on the call cannot hear you.

To activate:

  1. Press the Mute button. Red light next to the Mute button goes on and the party on the other end of the line cannot hear you.

To release:

  1. Press the Mute button again to resume talking with the party on the line through the handset or speaker. Red light next to the Mute button goes off, and the other party can hear you again.
