90FM Transmitter News
Hello All, here's the current status on the new transmitter and antenna project:
Last week the reorientation of the radio antenna and installation of our new LED obstruction beacon was completed. The construction project went smooth. The work was completed Wednesday afternoon and we were back on the air at 5:00 pm.
WWSP is currently operating at 15,000 watts from our old transmitter. We'll be increasing to 30,000 watts after all paper work is filed and approved by the FCC. We're waiting for a letter from the surveyors, certifying the proper orientation of the new antenna azimuth before we can go further.
The next phase is to assemble the documentations and forward them to Evan & Associates, our engineering consultant, who'll file to the necessary FCC forms for program test authority. During that time we'll conduct a proof of performance to verify emission requirements compliance.
The new transmitter is partially installed, but still needs further setup. Rick Westenberger our engineer will continue working on its installation.
I'll keep you updated on our progress.
Respectfully,
John Gosz
