Winter Trip:
This years PRA's
winter tip is taking place the weekend of February 16th. We will be
going to the "Book across the bay" in Ashland, WI. We will be going up
Friday night or Saturday morning depending on all of your schedules, and
we will be coming home Sunday sometime. Transportation will be provided.
We will be having a meeting for all the trip goers to discuss details,
but until then, please email Kimberly

Forestry Banquet:
The
forestry banquet is coming up on February 15th. PRA is in charge of
setting the centerpieces on the tables so if you can and are willing to
help we would greatly appreciate that! Here is some more info:
2007 Forestry Banquet NEW
Tickets will be sold for the 2007 Forestry Banquet in the CNR West
Lobby from Wed, Jan. 31 through Fri, Feb. 9 or at the Society of
American Foresters meetings at 5pm on Thur. in CNR 170. Costs will be
$13 for students and $18 for professionals. The banquet will be held at
the Elks Lodge #641 in downtown Stevens Point located at 1132 Clark
Street (HWY 10 East). There is plenty of parking near the Elks Lodge.
Contact Steve Kaufman (skauf521@uwsp.edu) for directions. The evening's
events will begin with a social hour at 6pm in the Elks Lodge, followed
by the dinner/speaker, beginning at 7pm. This year's speaker will be a
representative from the Wisconsin DNR Forest Health Department who will
be giving a talk on the Emerald Ash Borer, specifically about its
affects on all the different forestry emphasis. Entertainment will then
follow the speaker.

Volunteer Work:
This will not take place soon, but it is something to keep in mind. Last
year PRA did some volunteer work in Ladysmith in Rusk County. If you are
interested in helping out email Toni Larson (tlars360@uwsp.edu)
with any questions.
