WOMAC (Women in Mathmatics and Computing) @ UWSP

Minutes from 11-1-04 Meeting:

DePere Conference - We (WOMAC) will be splitting any costs (gas, gift for Rebecca's parents, etc.) with Math Club for the trip to DePere.
Our bake sale last week went very well - thank you to all who baked and sold!
MAIN TOPIC OF DISCUSSION: WOMAC as a newer organization
and where we see ourselves going in the future.

As you all know, Women in Mathematics & Computing is a very new organization. What many of you don't know is this:
Since we are a new organization, we do not have any footsteps to follow in - we get to make our own!

In our discussion of this new organization, we seemed to work off of these big questions:

Q.) What would you like to see WOMAC do in the future?
Q.) What are some events, activities, or traditions you would like to see WOMAC start?
Q.) How can we increase the number of members and/or get our name out on campus?

We decided to have everyone, not just the members at the meeting, take part in answering these questions by filling out the following the questions in the attached document. In order to discuss these at our next meeting, we ask that you please take 5-10 minutes to give us your opinions by 12:00pm on Monday, November 15th. You can either fill it out in Word and send it back via e-mail, or print it out and drop it off in the Women in Math & Computing mailbox in B245 (across from the Math Office) or B127 (Susan's office). For those of you who have not been able to attend a meeting and want to get to know what we are doing and who some of the members are, please let us know! We can set up a time to fit your schedule so you can meet in person with other WOMAC members. NEXT MEETING: Monday, November 15th @ 4:00 in the Brewhaus - See you there!
