Woodpecker

The Woodpecker Project takes place at Sandhill State Wildlife Area starting in January and up until spring break.  What we are looking at is species composition in an oak-aspen forest, age-sex ratios, and home ranges of woodpeckers.  However, we are not limited to just woodpeckers!  We also catch nuthatches, well A LOT of nuthatches, and chickadees.  All of the birds we catch are banded.  So far, we have never been skunked for birds, so we can always guarantee you a catch!
