                                                    Woodcock or Timber Doodle Project

Location: Survey routes outside Stevens Point

Transportation: Project leader drives

When: Late April-early May, leave Stevens Point around 8pm and return before 10pm, shortly after sunset

Volunteer Duties: Listen for the number of different “peenting” males heard

What to Bring: A good pair of listening ears

What are We Looking For: At each site, we shut off the engine, listen for the number of different “peenting” males heard and drive to the next site 

Project Purpose: Estimate populations of woodcocks
