Lagomorph Project

(Rabbits and Hares)

Location: Sandhill Wildlife Area (Babcock, WI) http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/Org/land/wildlife/reclands/sandhill/

Transportation: Project leaders or volunteers drive

When: First snow until March/April; weekends and sleep at Sandhill

Volunteer Duties: Assist the project leaders in trapping and collaring rabbits and hares, performing radio telemetry

What to Bring: Warm clothes,  food, money for food, backpack/bag to carry gear, good boots, snowshoes,(may be available at Sandhill or rentable through Outdoor EdVentures)

What We Are Looking For: Collar rabbits/hares, observe their tracks and predators, habitat preference

Project Purpose: To uncover the niche, mortality rates, and natural predators of legomorphs within Sandhill
