Treatment Process
The design flow of the Green Machine is for a max of 38,000 Gals/day. With a individual average of 50 gallons a day, the system can handle about 720 people. The treatment process involves two things: 1)Solids Removal and 2)Ammonia removal. All the School's toilet, shower and sink water ends up here. The water passes through four 12,000 Gallon septic tanks outside the greenhouse before being processed. These tanks are similar to standard residential tanks, however the water is processed to get a much cleaner and more environmentally friendly product. Just so you know, the tanks you see are also buried 12 deeper than you see!
