The History of Tribeta

Dr. Frank G. Brooks and a group of his students founded TriBeta in 1922 at Oklahoma City University. By 1925 the idea of a professional honor society for biology students spread rapidly and it became a national organization, along with holding biennial national conventions. The society journal, BIOS, TriBeta grew and is divided into regions and districts. There are more than 145,000 lifetime members and more than 380 chapters throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
