Dr. Frank G. Brooks and a group
of his students founded TriBeta in 1922 at Oklahoma City University. By
1925 the idea of a professional honor society for biology students spread
rapidly and it became a national organization, along with holding biennial
national conventions. The society journal, BIOS, TriBeta grew and
is divided into regions and districts. There are more than 145,000 lifetime
members and more than 380 chapters throughout the United States and Puerto
